Come one, come all - We will read from a Gujarati Cookbook and learn new words as well as recipes. All levels are welcome - we will cater the meetup to the people who attend. If we need to work on basics of reading and writing, we will work on that instead.

I'm really excited about starting up this group - this is something I have always wanted to do. I hope many of you will be able to make it to this first meeting.

I have finalized the location - Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library is about a five minute drive from West Falls Church Metro and I think a 30 minute walk. There is also a bus line that goes from the metro to the library - use www.wmata.com if you would like to take the bus. Please e-mail me using the meetup site if you would like to be picked up at the metro at 7:00pm.

Please try to be on time if you are attending - we have to vacate the conference room at 8:45 - so it gives us just over an hour for the actual education/learning piece.

Currently, I am thinking of spending some time on going over how to write a few letters of the alphabet and the basic idea of how the language is written. Then, practice reading from a children's book (I'll have copies for everyone). And the last half hour can be devoted to small group conversation in Gujarati.

Afterwards, if people feel like socializing or are hungry, we can drive to a nearby restaurant.
